One of our first assignments in my comics class last semester was to go to the local independent comics store, Quimby's, and purchase a zine that someone had put out. We then had to respond in a two page comic in our sketchbook. This is what I drew:
The drawings get lazy towards the second page, but that picture up top is a sketch of the actual zine, which was full of weird, tiny little exquisite corpse drawings that I half-heartedly tried to imitate.
My sister and I cooked a Thanksgiving dinner this year for about ten people. It was a great success after three days of cooking and lots and lots of money spent on food. We ate turkey and potatoes and cornbread and pie and then we all went on the roof, and then we came down and after half of the party left the rest of us gathered around a candle on the floor and drew exquisite corpses.
There were five of us, and the passing method was somewhat haphazard, but each corpse got three sections. Chaz carries a huge bag of crayons with him at all times, and it was the perfect medium at the right moment.
In my Video 1 class last semester we had a series of exercise assignments. One of these was an exquisite corpse process where different groups went off to shoot footage, gave the tape to another group who shot sound, and the director from the third group got to shoot extra footage if needed and then edit it together.
Jordan and Matt are seen playing the guitar (the original footage), and Mark, my groupmate, is the one dancing.
